Dr. Sharieff Dr. Ghazala Sharieff is the Medical Director of the San Diego Rady Children's Hospital Emergency Care Center and also serves as the Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine for Palomar-Pomerado Health System/ California Emergency Physicians. Dr Sharieff is also associate clinical professor at the University of California, San Diego.
She is double boarded in Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Dr. Sharieff has published numerous chapters, original research papers and review articles in the field of pediatric emergency medicine. She worked as assistant editor for the pediatric section of the latest edition of Harwood Nuss’ Clinical Practice of Emergency Medicine and has published a QuickGlance handbook on pediatric emergency medicine. She is active on the editorial boards for the Journal of Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Emergency Reports and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Practice. She has served as a board member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and was co-chair of the AAEM Education Committee for five years.
She has served as the past-chair of the American College of Emergency Physicians’ Pediatric Committee, which leads the way in directing the acute care of children. Dr Sharieff has lectured at multiple conferences nationally and internationally and is often featured on Audio-Digest Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medicine Reviews And Perspectives (EMRAP). She is well-known for her engaging and enthusiastic teaching style. Dr. Sharieff has won many teaching awards including Best Overall Instructor from the San Diego Naval Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program, The AAEM Young Educator of the Year Award and the ACEP Service to Section Award.
